Those Stupid AI 80s Pictures Are Literally Killing Us

Those Stupid AI 80s Pictures Are Literally Killing Us This stupid AI trend is going around that presents these idiots with an image of "what you would have looked like in the 80s." Those of us who were there don't need to imagine ourselves in the 80s.  Unfortch, I don't really have any big hair/big make up/neon clothes pictures. That trend didn't really take over where I went to high school. Most I can offer is some heavily moussed bangs. Sometimes, like for the yearbook pictur…

Shepaug Valley High School, Class of 1988

Shepaug Valley High School, Class of 1988 I was voted "Feminist" in the high school yearbook.  I don't know why. I was gobsmacked when I saw the yearbook. I mean...I am...but what was it about me that the yearbook committee thought was particularly feminist?? I had never made a speech or written a manifesto or argued with anyone on the topic? I was not in the Debate Club nor did Model UN.   So weird.  Also, the yearbook committee was comprised of all these people who took pi…

Memory Unlocked: The Hunt of the Unicorn

Memory Unlocked: The Hunt of the Unicorn I saw a Facebook post today about this unicorn tapestry that someone copied onto a cookie cake. OH this unicorn tapestry! I love it. Actually, it's a series of seven tapestries called "The Hunt of the Unicorn." I went to college in NY, took art history as a minor. My Art History minor was because of the Humanities class I took in senior year of high school. I fell in love with learning about history and civilization through its a…

Dirty Sweet 'N You're My Girl (Eulogy For An Awesome Chick)

Dirty Sweet 'N You're My Girl (Eulogy For An Awesome Chick) Genine was a high school friend. Brief, bright and deep, that was our love, from about mid-freshmen year to the summer of junior year. I wish I could find my goddamn yearbook so I could see what we wrote into the blurbs on each others' pages at graduation. Was it "remember when we..." and was it promises to keep in better touch? It's things like that you grasp for, when you find out a one-time friend is gone.

Throwback Thursday: 1986

Throwback Thursday: 1986 Young people need role models. Having a young and creative woman like my aunt Sharon was great. I had a not-so-happy childhood and she seemed to sense it, seems she went out of her way to spend time with me. She tried to teach me how to drive a stick, and she'd find reasons for the two of us to hang out. I remember this day when she and I went for a walk, she wanted to take pictures of me. I resisted. I hate pictures of me, but I don't …

Throwback Thursday: 1987

Throwback Thursday: 1987 Bonus Throwback This isn't the first time this photo set came around. Prob'ly will again, too. A nice side effect of staying in touch with the people you were stupid with in high school.
