Art On The Walls: Boston Neighborhood

Art On The Walls: Boston Neighborhood Isn’t this beautiful? There happen to be some nails already in the walls of the new place, so I hung this piece on one of them. I love it. It looks like a painting, but it’s a stylized photograph, printed onto canvas. Joe bought it for me from our friend Bill years ago. Bill hung out on this corner for awhile until he got the perfect shot. It was chilly. I think everyone in Boston will recognize what part of town this is...your thoughts?😋

The Apartment Hunt...IS OVER!!! We moved!

The Apartment Hunt...IS OVER!!! We moved! I know it's been about three weeks since I've written, but I had a good reason. Guys, we moved! The apartment hunt is over! We ended up in Brighton , the town adjacent to Allston , the other of the juxtaposed neighborhoods of Boston. I Really Should Have Moved That Tee-Shirt First

I Really Should Have Moved That Tee-Shirt First So I was exchanging Christmas decoration photos and video with my friends, and this is what I sent, you guys. Peerless Life in Allston Rock City

Peerless Life in Allston Rock City Allston is a thickly settled multi-generational, multi-cultural Boston neighborhood off the Mass Pike. It's a student ghetto, situated on the 57 and 66 bus routes, and the B train from Boston College to Boston University to Kenmore (Red Sox territory), and onward into Park Street, where you can change trains and get pretty much anywhere you want to go. Lower Allston, or "LA" so dubbed by its genial citizenry, is a comparatively qu…

Recipe: Loaded Potato Chowder

Recipe: Loaded Potato Chowder I whipped up this decadent soup the other night, making it up as I went along -- that's usually how I approach soup-making -- but this one came out so good that I've got to write it down. Sorry, it's not for vegans nor Atkins people. This is a hearty, fatty winter soup that's a stick-to-your-ribs meal in a bowl. You non-bacon, non-dairy, no-carb guys might live a few years longer, but then again, you don't get to have this s…
